LAGO

New for 2026, Lago makes a compelling case for modern roundpins with an edge towards flow - Twin (original), quad or thruster. Moderate rocker paired with a clean, lightly-hipped roundpin - hiding a couple sneaky tweaks, Lago picks up where most performance shortboards leave off in flow and paddle power.

The Lago came out of my friend Fermin Lagonel's desire for a slightly beefed-up shortboard variation that would carry him farther and longer than his classic performance shortboards. A bit of extra paddle power and with a little more natural-speed generation; Momentum oriented flow. Seeking rhythm and speed without all the hard work...Connecting sections and extending sessions where classic shortboards fall off.

The Sauce

Lago shares a bottom shape with her family members FKAIDO and Plastron - A heavy forward single (reducing plowing under paddle-power while keeping a more curvaceous rail line rocker), transitioning to a tight spiral vee/double concave under the back foot for looseness and control - where this bottom shape differs are the flat panels that flank the concaves, giving the board more planing speed with less work, less stickiness on the wave face, and better ability to maintain momentum down the line and in the lip.
